JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for consulting and sales efforts within assigned territories by working as a
consultant to find out the problem our clients have with their trees, and work hard to solve their
tree problems. We serve our Houston area clients with the absolute best level of tree care within
the area, and possibly the state, and we can prove that empirically ;)
- Good communication with clients assigned to you. You'll work hard to develop a long term
relationship, and will be expected to keep up the rapport and relationship with the client. Quite
frankly, it's like you have a bunch of business friend!

Qualifications:
Education:
bachelor’s degree in the green industry or related field preferred
Experience (PREFERRED, not required)
At least 3 years of Arboriculture / tree care industry sales experience or 6 years of related
industry experience (REQUIRED)
License or Certification
As required by state and federal law - Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
ISA certification or ability to obtain within 3-6 months - YES, this is a requirement. If you want

Specialized Skills Preferred:
- Strong internal and external client communication and rapport building - we're in the Human
care business, we just do it through proper tree care!
- Ability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel extensively
within assigned territory - it's sales so..... that's how it goes!
- Experience working the commercial property managers
- Excellent oral and written communication, including being capable of writing a well-structured
Arborist Report (we work on many litigation and insurance claims)
- Organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Intermediate understanding of CRM software (don't worry, we'll train you)
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions (again,
you'll do a lot of arborist reports)
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule format
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop contacts and prospects to ensure long-term profitability for Eric Putnam, BCMA, LLC
and its customers through cold-calling, market research, and internal lead development
- Generate job estimates/bid proposals, including scope of work, accurate site boundaries and
measurements, and estimate of labor and materials in cooperation with operations and office
staff
- Reply appropriately to potential and current client Requests for Proposal (RFPs) in a timely and
professional manner
- Meet or exceed established annual sales targets
- Attend RFP pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations
- Maintain relationships with key clients to seek out and take advantage of opportunities for
networking and additional sales generation - each consulting arborists will be required and
expected to actively be involved with a local chamber of commerce and networking group.
- Attend staff and sales meetings to assess business opportunities and ensure mutual
understanding of Eric Putnam, BCMA, INC. strategic focus
- Facilitate contact with existing and potential clients via trade shows, association events, and
meetings
- Ensure a smooth transition from contract signing to contract fulfillment by facilitating
introductory meeting and site walk-through between client and operations
Compensation:

- This position is commission only ... we will pay for ALL of your business expenses, but we
expect you to work hard to excel
- Up to 15% commission paid on applicable sales (not including sales tax and subs)

Please note that the salary information shown below is provided in compliance with state specific
laws. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and

Pay range: $77,000 - $140,0000

Schedule:
- You will be in sales. Therefore a "normal" schedule is unrealistic to attain, however we want
you to spend as much time as possible with your family and those you love, doing the things you
love.
- with exception to inclement weather events, we work Monday-Friday ONLY
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:
Commission pay, ranging from 11%-16% with Bonuses
Ability to commute/relocate: for the right candidate, travel and relocation
expenses will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Professional Consulting Arborist: 3 years (Preferred, can train the right person)
tree service industry: 3-6 years (Preferred)
